Amity Shlaes's new book, "Coolidge," a biography of America's 30th president, is available by pre-order from Barnes & Noble. Shlaes, director of the Bush Institute's 4% Growth Project, was recently interviewed about the book for the "Power Blog" of the Acton Institute. Shlaes points out that "Coolidge" is in many ways a prequel to her last book, "The Forgotten Man." She tells her Acton hosts that the 1930s are the story "about how the government messed it up," and exacerbated the Great Depression through misguided policies. Meanwhile, the 1920s are about how the policies of Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolidge allowed the economy to thrive. Listen to the entire interview here, and be sure to check the "Power Blog" often for more Coolidge material.
