Bush Institute Executive Director James K. Glassman discussed next week’s Celebration of Freedom event and the Freedom Collection at the Heritage Foundation’s Bloggers Briefing this week. On Tuesday, May 15, the George W. Bush Presidential Center will hold a special event to celebrate the brave efforts of dissidents and activists around the world in their fight to be free. At the briefing Glassman pointed out “the incredible importance of a president, or other high government officials, or people like you, displaying moral support for the people who are out around the world fighting, imprisoned, doing their best, to bring freedom to their countries.” During next week’s Celebration of Freedom, joined by leading voices of liberty, President Bush will deliver major remarks on the fight for freedom being waged across the globe.  The program will also include a conversation with Nobel Peace Prize winner and Burmese freedom dissident, Aung San Suu Kyi, via video teleconference.
